This is how Seangle Jakarta commemorates the 74th Independence Day

Seangle Jakarta Sunday, August 18, 2019

Commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Seangle Jakarta participated in “Menghadap ke laut 2.0” movement along with a simultaneous beach clean-up across  74 locations along the coast of Indonesia. This year the Jakarta Beach Clean-up was held in thee East Coast location, Ancol Village, Jakarta. On Sunday, August 18, 2019. The dominant waste encountered was clothes and nets rubbish, followed by soft plastic (the majority of which were disposable plastic such as plastic bag, straw, sachet, etc. ), and rubber (the majority of car tires).

The result of the beach clean-up shows that there is still a lot of garbage that comes from our lifestyle, especially the use of plastic. Therefore let us be wise in using plastic and disposable materials. From the data obtained there are more than 7.5 tons of garbage collected on the East Coast of Ancol itself and even that there is still a lot of garbage left both on the coast and at sea.
